Car Shipping Made Easy!

Whether you are moving to a new place or just need a car shipped from one location to another, it can be a hassle. With the right planning and some help, car shipping can be made easy. At Boulder Nissan we have been helping families ship vehicles all over the country for years.


Things that determine prices for car shipping are fuel costs, size and weight of the vehicle, and geographical location. If you live in a highly trafficked route for truckers your costs may be reduced. We specialize in routes to and from the northeast part of the United States and northern California to Boulder.


We stress that our customers have patience when it comes to car shipping. This isn't like Amazon where you know where and when your package will arrive or be picked up. We are dealing with truckers and machines that occasionally break down or run into weather and other challenges along the routes.


Solid communication is the key to a successful car shipment. We offer phone, email, and text support to keep our customers in the know when it comes to car shipping. The carrier will typically call you to arrange pickup / delivery 12-24 hours ahead of time.


At Boulder Nissan we have the ability to store your vehicle safely until you can arrive to pick it up. If you have a student attending Colorado University Boulder this is a very convenient service for shipping a car out. We are located about 1 mile from campus on 28th just down the road.


FAQ / Other things to know:

  1. These are semi trucks they don't pull up to your front door. You will most likely need to meet the drivers in a safe location close to you that they can load / unload the vehicle.
  2. We never guarantee a pickup time or delivery time. We shoot to meet your schedule as to pickup day and approximate delivery date. Most shipments will take 4-7 days once picked up depending on your location.
  3. Don't overpack the cars we recommend no more than 100 lbs and nothing of significant value. The best thing is to load the trunk or rear cargo area if you are planning on packing some items. If you over pack the car there is a chance the driver will ask for a surcharge or not take the car at all in some rare cases. They don't want to be responsible for all your items they just want to move your car.
  4. Insurance - We only work with properly insured carriers and can provide certificate of insurance if requested. Condition reports of your vehicle are produced on both ends by the driver. They will most likely take photos all around the car to document any damage which you can request a copy of.
  5. Aftermarket add ons - If your vehicle is modified we need to know. This will affect pricing and limit the carriers who will accept the pick up. We recommend if you have roof racks or bike racks store them inside the vehicle. If you have a lift kit or oversized tires we need to know this as well.
  6. Cost / Convenience -  Our pricing is competitive we normally quote $1 per mile to be safe and if we can get it done for less we can save you some money. We have a solid network of carriers we work with that often go above and beyond to satisfy our customers.
  7. Payment Terms - We will collect payment via text link once the vehicle has been picked up payable to Boulder Nissan. You will never be expected to pay the carrier directly unless instructed differently by Boulder Nissan. We pay the carrier directly on your behalf by company check.
