One of the most iconic vehicles ever built by the Nissan brand is without a doubt the GT-R sports car. Tracing its roots back to the Skyline GT-R, the Nissan GT-R as we currently know it came into being for the 2009 model year with the model code R35. But now, the legendary R35 generation of the vehicle is coming to an end much like the R34 before it. We’re sure it won’t be long before we find out what’s next for the GT-R nameplate (perhaps an electric vehicle?), but until then Nissan has announced two special edition, limited-edition final run models for the 2024 Nissan GT-R. We thought we’d highlight their specs & features and what sets them apart today, so keep reading to learn more about the T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition limited trims.
Let’s first take a look at the T-spec Takumi Edition of the 2024 Nissan GT-R, which will come with a price tag of $151,090 according to the MSRP. This model pays homage to the master craftsman who hand-build every single GT-R engine. In Japan, any “master craftsman who has perfected his skills over years of painstaking work and dedication” might come to be referred to as a takumi. It’s a term that’s reserved for the very best and, therefore, is monumentous when someone comes to refer to you as it. Over a decade ago, Nissan granted the name to four men working at the Yokohama plant, and now this model pays homage to them.
On the engine of each T-spec Takumi Edition will be a badge acknowledging these takumi, featuring red-etched writing as well as a gold VIN plate in the engine bay. The Takumi Edition will also come exclusively in a Midnight Purple paint job, further paying homage to its roots as many previous special edition models have featured this paint, alongside a Mori Green interior. Further enhancements include:
While the story behind the Skyline Edition isn’t quite as deep, it pays homage to its roots, as the predecessor of the current Nissan GT-R was the Nissan Skyline GT-R. The Skyline Edition will be built onto the GT-R Premium trim level and features a Bayside Blue exterior and Sora Blue interior, the latter of which is completely new.
While each of these special-edition trim levels have their own unique design cues and features, they retain the same technical specifications as the regular lineup. The Skyline Edition is built on the Premium trim level while the Takumi Edition is built on the T-Spec trim, so we we’ll leave off the NISMO trim level from our analysis, but check out the table below for some details on the specs that make the 2024 Nissan GT-R such an icon.
Horsepower | 565 hp |
Torque | 467 lb-ft. |
0-60 mph | 3.1 s |
Quarter Mile | 11.5 s |
60-0 mph | 109 ft. |
City Fuel Economy | 16 mpg |

We hope this has given you enough incite into the final run of the R35, the 2024 Nissan GT-R. With less than 200 units being made available, you’ll want to reach out to inquire about availability of the Skyline Edition or Takumi Edition. If you’re interested in a regular edition of the final R35 GT-R, we’d be happy to start the process of ordering one with you, so don’t hesitate to give us a call here at the sales desk. We look forward to hearing from you!
