Colorado EV Rebates in 2025: What You Should Know

If you’re considering an electric vehicle in Colorado, it’s important to stay informed about the state’s EV rebate program. Here are the latest updates and changes to keep in mind:

  • Rebate Reduction: Starting January 1, 2025, the $5,000 Colorado tax credit will drop by $1,500 to $3,500.
  • Extra Savings for Affordable EVs: Since 2024, an additional $2,500 rebate has been available for EVs with an MSRP under $35,000, making options like the Nissan LEAF S even more affordable.
  • $600 Credit Option: Between January 1, 2024, and January 1, 2026, buyers or lessees can assign their full rebate to a dealership or financing company. If you choose this option, $600 can be applied directly to your purchase or lease at the time of the transaction.

For more information on the rebate program and how it works, visit the Colorado Energy Office.
