The All-New 2026 Nissan LEAF: A Bold New Chapter in Electric Driving

The Nissan LEAF has always been a pioneer—first to market, first in mass adoption, and first in building trust in electric mobility. Now, 15 years after the original debuted, the all-new 2026 Nissan LEAF ushers in a bold new era for one of the world’s most recognizable electric vehicles.

Fully reimagined from the ground up, this third-generation LEAF blends sleek aerodynamics with SUV-inspired presence, a dramatically upgraded interior, enhanced power and range, and tech that makes EV life easier than ever. Whether you're upgrading from a previous LEAF or switching from gas for the first time, the 2026 LEAF is engineered to exceed expectations.

Built on Experience, Engineered for the Future

Since 2010, Nissan has sold nearly 700,000 LEAFs globally, with drivers covering over 28 billion kilometers. Every mile, every charging session, every real-world insight helped shape this third-generation model.

The new LEAF isn’t just an update—it’s a total reinvention. It’s the first to use Nissan’s next-gen 3-in-1 electric powertrain, combining the motor, inverter, and reducer into a single, compact unit. This allows for more efficient packaging and up to 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque, depending on trim.

Nissan engineers also optimized the LEAF's platform for a smoother, quieter ride. A new multi-link rear suspension and enhanced thermal recovery system improve both comfort and cold-weather efficiency—capturing heat from the onboard charger to warm the battery and extend range in colder climates.

Bold Aerodynamics, Smart Design

The new design is striking: flush door handles, a fastback silhouette, and 3D holographic taillights give the 2026 LEAF a modern yet approachable look. But it’s not just for show—every design decision was made to support aerodynamics and energy efficiency.

In fact, the new LEAF achieves a coefficient of drag as low as 0.26 Cd, helping extend range while keeping the ride quiet and stable. Even the available electrochromic panoramic roof is part of the aerodynamic package. It not only filters infrared light to keep the cabin cool, but also adjusts tint at the touch of a button—no bulky sunshades needed.

Spacious, Minimalist, and Smart Inside

Step inside and you'll find a cabin that's both futuristic and functional. Built on the CMF-EV platform, the interior features a flat floor, minimalist dash, and an airy sense of space. The available dual 14.3-inch displays are sharp and responsive, and offer built-in Google apps including Google Maps. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also available.

Higher trims offer luxuries like 64-color ambient lighting, Bose® Personal® Plus audio, and even an "invisible hood view" from the Intelligent Around View® Monitor, making parking and maneuvering easier than ever.

Smart Charging. Smarter Driving.

Nissan knows that convenience is key to EV adoption. That’s why the 2026 LEAF supports the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and adds Plug & Charge functionality, letting you simply plug in and automatically start a charging session without apps or RFID cards.

Need a quick top-off? Fast charging can add up to 250 kilometers (~155 miles) of range in just 14 minutes under optimal conditions. And with navigation-linked battery conditioning, the car can adjust battery temperature based on your route to optimize both range and charging efficiency.

EV Lifestyle Enhancements: Power Beyond the Drive

The 2026 LEAF isn’t just a car—it’s a portable power source. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability allows you to power gear, lights, or even small appliances during a camping trip or power outage. Up to 1,500 watts of discharge is available via outlets in the cabin and cargo area.

In Japan and select future markets, Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability even allows the LEAF to integrate with home energy systems—providing backup power or storing solar energy for later use.

Coming Fall 2025 to Boulder Nissan

The highly anticipated, third-generation Nissan LEAF is expected to arrive at Boulder Nissan in fall 2025, assembled alongside the all-electric ARIYA in Japan. With a design that turns heads, technology that eases range anxiety, and practicality for real-world use, this LEAF is ready to convert skeptics and reward loyalists alike.

We’re excited to bring this groundbreaking vehicle to Colorado. Whether you’re an EV enthusiast or a gas driver ready to make the leap, the 2026 Nissan LEAF delivers the performance, tech, and comfort to move you forward.
