Did you know that the Pathfinder is actually the oldest, longest-running “light truck” vehicle on the Nissan lineup? The Nissan Pathfinder made its debut all the way back in 1986, roughly 10 years before the next model still on the lineup was introduced (which was the Nissan Frontier). The only Nissan models still around that were there before it are the Sentra and Maxima. That’s a testament to just how dependable and popular the Pathfinder is, as it has outlasted plenty of other models that have come and gone in the three-plus decades since its debut. Now this year, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder is packed full of incredible specifications and features, which we thought we’d detail today by diving into the technical specs and highlighting some of the most exciting features, technologies and design cues.
Before we dive into the details on what makes the Pathfinder tick, we thought we’d first go over the available variants of the midsize crossover. There are five different trim levels to choose from, starting with the S and moving up to SV, SL, Rock Creek and Platinum. Each of these trim levels, with the exception of Rock Creek, are available with either front-wheel or four-wheel drive systems. Rock Creek is exclusively available with the four-wheel drive system and offers some unique things compared to the rest of the lineup.
For example, the Rock Creek features the same 3.5L V6 engine as the rest of the lineup, but it has been tuned to offer improved performance with a boost to 295 horsepower alongside 270 pound-feet of torque. In addition, it receives an off-road-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires, and other off-road features and design cues.
